almost off

Hola!
(better start practicing the few words I know...)

Tomorrow is the day. Apart from being the first day of February. It is also the day of departure for my next chapter - Spain, Españia, my new home. My room is a mess - stuff and clothes everywhere and the anxiety over having to leave some of my things at home is increasing. I am seriously not okay with having to choose and decide what to bring and what to leave. Tell me, who knows how to plan for 6 months?? I have difficulties planning for a week!

It has definitely dawned on me that I’m leaving. It feels okay in this very moment, but the last few days have been stressful. Somehow this has been on the topic for such a long time that it seems strange that it is time to go. It feels like the calm before the storm. But it will be okay for sure. That’s the only attitude I will allow myself to have. So now there is nothing else to do than to finish my packing and start learning some new words en español!

I’ll try to update about what is happening in Valladolid (and Madrid) as often as possible.
Adíos for now,
k

introduktion/first blog entry

As I tend to do, I decided to start a blog (finally) although I guess we'll have to see to what it leads. Mainly of course it will be functioning as a diary for my semester in Spain. At least in the beginning. I must say that as the date of departure is getting closer, my feelings are mixed. I keep getting flashbacks to Dublin (which brings me hope), but at the same time I keep getting reminded of my bad language skills in Spanish (which brings me dispair). It will all be ok I'm sure. I may end up in a lot of funny situations, but that will just make life more interesting, isn't it so?

theme of the day (and of the trip, my never-becoming-old-motto): " Det kommer ordna sig, det gör det alltid, Jo, det löser sig, så brukar allt bli, det kommer fixa sig till slut, det är inget tvivel om, fast nu känns skiten sur
och flera mil ifrån, det ordnar sig..."
Timbuk sure knows what he's talking about ;-)
